I have known Anna since the mid-noughties, firstly as an industry colleague in the concrete sector and subsequently as our respective paths have developed within the wider construction arena. Always enthusiastic, approachable and hugely positive, Anna brings great energy to discussion and strategic review and in this context, Anna undertook some consultancy work for me at the Institution of Structural Engineers during an early evaluation of pathways for digital transformation. That work has underpinned a substantial development programme that continues long after Anna's work with us concluded. She is insightful and challenging but always in a way that brings the best out of those she works with; helping them to find and discover new solutions for business improvement.

I have known Anna since university and our paths have crossed through our mutual interest in rowing and professionally through the connections that we have. Anna is very tenacious, seeks to improve at every opportunity and seeks feedback to do this. Anna has never been shy to present a different perspective and she plays a strong role in taking debates out of the comfort levels and navigates them back again. This enables other to engage in the uncomfortable truths that are often left unsaid resulting in a far better and more honest outcome. Anna is a strong leader, an engaging presenter and really great fun. You will enjoy your time working with Anna in whatever capacity it may be.

The non-executive director's role is to provide a creative contribution to the board by providing objective criticism. Non-executive directors are chosen because they have a breadth of experience, are of an appropriate calibre and have particular personal qualities. Additionally, they have some specialist knowledge that will help provide the board with valuable insights or perhaps, key contacts in related industries. Of the utmost importance is their independence of the management of the company and any of its ‘interested parties.’ This means they can bring a degree of objectivity to the board's deliberations, and play a valuable role in monitoring executive management. Anna supports Gentoo Green through extensive strategic business leadership with an emphasis on sustainable business development and a breadth industry knowledge. Show less
