Brian Communications is a strategic communications agency, led by Brian Tierney. With expertise in strategic counsel and planning, public relations, crisis communications, branding and advertising, Brian Communications is one of the fastest-growing communications firms in the Philadelphia region. At Brian, I work with supervisors to create master lists, press releases, media pitches, client profiles, assist with client calls, and much more. During my internship at Brian Communications, I worked with clients like Widener University, Belfor, Horatio Alger Association and UBS. I often wrote backgrounders for my supervisors and took notes during client calls, assisted with client events, and wrote bylines. I wrote a byline on behalf of a client for UBS that was published in a local news paper, The Daily Local Times. I worked on the High School Leadership Awards program for our client Widener University and often make calls on their behalf. Show less

The Franklin Institute is a nationally acclaimed science museum located in the heart of Philadelphia. Named after inventor Benjamin Franklin, The Franklin Institute is an establishment that focuses on the importance of science and education for people of all ages. With exhibits like Your Brian, The Giant Heart, Space Command and many more, The Franklin Institute transforms the world of education and science into a highly interactive experience. During my internship at The Franklin Institute, I was responsible for the planning of the two traveling exhibits, Robot Revolution and Jurassic World: The Exhibition. I created many media alerts, press releases, press lists and public relations plans for these current exhibits. This internship strengthened my researching skills, as I learned how to use Cision to create press lists and Critical Mention to find and edit media clips. At The Franklin Institute, I was also responsible for collecting press coverage related to the museum and organizing these clips in both our digital and physical binders. For the previous traveling exhibit featured at the museum, The Science Behind Pixar, I helped with several press events and was responsible for escorting the press in and out, as well as helping them set up.
