AnnaMaria is a warm hearted, goal driven individual. We worked together Fall 2012, I as a mentor for her students and she as my supervisor. I had the pleasure of guiding two gentlemen throughout their first semester of college with the supervision of AnnaMaria. I can say that she truly cares about the future of her students and their academic success as well as personal development. She is clear with directions and very responsive, what every employee would wish for from their supervisors. I not only recommend AnnaMaria, but highly encourage people to work with her. Her aura and passion are contagious, and she exudes professionalism with her work ethic.

What I most noticed about AnnaMaria when I met her was her complete involvement in whatever activity she was engaged in. When I first met AnnaMaria, she was doing a fundraiser with the Latin American Student Union (LASU), and she was as enthusiastic and invested in that activity as she has been in the number of programs she worked on in the Center and elsewhere. The issues confronting women in today’s world, and issues of social justice in general, are clearly of concern to AnnaMaria. As a programming assistant in the Womyn’s Resource Center, she immediately set a tone of competence and enthusiasm in her work. Following her initial semester with us, AnnaMaria applied for the position of programming intern, and was hired, which was a very wise decision. AnnaMaria is thorough in completing assigned tasks, creative in brainstorming, and consistent in follow-through, setting an example for those with whom she worked. AnnaMaria was an active and engaged participant in programs like forums and Take Back the Night Marches, but worked as well behind the scenes as a mentor and problem-solver with fellow staff members, including younger students who work with the Center as programming assistants. Often, that kind of energy and commitment means that the individual involved has an
