Annalisa, it is fair to say, has changed our company forever. We are the number one drone training and consulting company in the UK right now and need our story telling. We are pushing the boundaries of technology and pilot capability and we get involved in really cool areas of thinking. Annalisa came to us in order to train to become a drone pilot. To add a skill to her collection which makes her such an acclaimed photojournalist and storyteller. She liked us so much she decided to hang out for a while. Much to our delight. Annalisa has now lived and breathed our company culture and spent time getting to know us before starting her work. It means that we always expect to see her, she fits and blends in. She has gained our confidence and our trust. Have I mentioned that she is a terrific pilot too yet? Well, she has become part of the family here at Flyby Technology. When she asks for 10 minutes of our time we know we are going to enjoy the experience. She is so polite and respectful but has a terrific ability to get you talking on camera. Not to get gotcha moments. She gets you onto subjects you love talking about. That generates ideas and offshoots to explore. Before you know it you are in full flow but in the area you want to communicate. The reason she is there. To get your message out. We have also found that she helps us crystallise our own ideas further. When you explain what you do it can often allow you to see your role more clearly yourself. She is a true facilitator of great skill and sympathy. She has our trust and she has our work. This is how it’s done. This is storytelling in today’s connected world. If she takes you on you will never look back. Customers need to buy into who you are. They can’t do that without knowing your story. So you need your story telling. You need Annalisa. It is so obvious to us. It should be obvious to you. Game changer moment.

Annalisa is a sensitive and thoroughly professional film maker. She made an excellent film for "The Mysterious Miss Austen", a ground breaking exhibition marking the bicentenary of the author's death. Annalisa worked tirelessly with the curators and designers to produce a series of films about the exhibition, which are both engaging and informative. She is a pleasure to work with.

Imagine working as part a team of high-performing individuals who have absolutely no doubt they can pull off whatever they set their collective minds to. Imagine that team, left in a room to redesign the way we live and challenge the way we move everything, from people to heavy goods or bringing relief aid to disaster zones. This is the dream team at Flyby. This the leading edge of an industry undergoing tremendous change. I saw a need for good visual storytelling campaigns as an alternative to traditional advertising and use my experience as a photojournalist to create engaging content designed to connect with digital consumers. I became an early user of drones as a replacement for expensive ground-based dolly equipment as well as for unique land and sea aerials.Recent work: Currently working with Flyby, the UK's premiere UAV/Drone training and technology company to produce media and documentary films about their groundbreaking work in BVLOS. Directed and produced film short for British manufacturer, Ring Powercraft, for the launch of their new military RIB boat at the Southampton Commercial Boat Show. Commissioned by Hampshire Cultural Trust to create film short for public display as part of their Jane Austen bicentenary exhibition, and two films showcasing Milestones Museum of Living History in Basingstoke. Created film for University of Winchester supporting their successful entry in the Green Gown Awards for Sustainability. Show less

Staff Photojournalist
-
May 2012 - May 2013
As the staff photojournalist working for this small, daily newspaper, I loved being completely immersed in the community, discovering stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to lend a voice to people who may not otherwise have been heard. Of course, I was responsible for covering all the usual daily happenings from breaking news to high school sports as well, but my goal was always to make a difference. One of the highlights was a story I wrote and photographed about the local Salvation Army Shelter for men titled "Serving the Invisible". A letter from a local lawyer explaining that he would no longer pass by a homeless person without acknowledging their existence made me see the true value of community news. Show less

Bringing business development, strategy expertise, brand and marketing development to small businesses. Worked to support Connecticut-based chef John Turenne during production of Jamie Oliver's "Food Revolution", a 6-part reality TV show set in Huntington, West Virginia, America's fattest city at the time according to the Center for Disease Control. Co-developed sustainability handbook and healthy choice guidelines for NAMA, the American vending industry trade organisation. Created guidelines for the Robert Treat Farm in Milford, Connecticut, to set up a Community Supported Agriculture box scheme (CSA) to ultimately replace the retail store at the farm. This scheme has become successful enough to allow the farm owner to break free from retail hours to concentrate on the farm. Also wrote the content for new website, developing a nostalgic voice for one of the oldest established farm businesses in the state. Show less
