Oct 2016 - Present
As an Associate Attorney at the boutique law firm Robert H. Montgomery, III, Esquire, P.C., I concentrate my practice on advising health care clients, such as dentists, veterinarians, optometrists, and dermatologists, on a variety of business and transactional matters. I lead practice acquisitions, sales, buy-ins, and equity transfers for solo practitioners, group practices, and corporate groups. I also advise on the formation of business organizations, entities, and structures, and assist with transactional due diligence. As part of these transactions, I also handle a real estate component, including negotiating leases and real estate acquisitions. In addition to my corporate practice, I act as a trusted outside counsel to advise clients on business operational matters and employment issues. This often includes counseling clients through patient care issues, regulatory changes, evolving issues, and day-to-day legal business matters. On the employment side, I counsel clients through employment issues to mitigation risk, help develop policies and best practices, and prepare employment agreements. Lastly, I often provide presentations on important issues to help educate clients and healthcare providers on legal-business issues impacting their practices and careers.

Jun 2013 - May 2015
As a law clerk, I gained experience in independently researching and drafting memos regarding a variety of issues. These areas include: foreign jurisdiction and arbitration clauses in admiralty insurance cases, insurance coverage disputes regarding reefer/refrigeration failures causing significant financial damage to perishable goods, municipal claims and liens against property by public utilities, and condominium development and homeowner association laws. Also researched and drafted legal documents including mortgages, notes, and assignments of rents and leases under Maryland law, and complaints regarding piercing the corporate veil and intentional interference with contractual obligations in admiralty, and sexual harassment.
