I am responsible for providing strategic advice and provision of communications to a diverse range of internal clients including media management, digital communications, sponsorships and integrated communication marketing programs. I'm also responsible for designing and delivering stakeholder engagement activities on key Council projects, plans and services projects, including strategy, implementation, monitoring and reporting. I've also been instrumental in the establishment of the council's LIVE TV capabilities, the first council in regional NSW (perhaps even the whole of NSW or Australia) to have such a service. Reporting to the State News Director and based in Orange,I was responsible for the leadership of the WIN newsroom in the Central West, which takes in the Dubbo and Orange bureaus. Over my two years as CoS in this newsroom, I increased the page’s social media following by almost 60%. I was accountable for editorial integrity and ensuring our bulletin complied with all obligations in relation to media law, as well as undertaking daily field reporting duties. I understand what it takes to produce an engaging, relevant, ratings-winning bulletin. I have a sound understanding of court reporting and media law, as well as processes relevant to supervising a television newsroom, including workplace awards and rostering. I also have experience developing editorial strategy and a constructive workplace culture. I am a leader with superior communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. I am required to have excellent time management skills and excel at working in a deadline-driven environment. I was the last Chief of Staff at this particular newsroom, when the company decided to close 4 regions newsrooms across the country. It just so happened that WIN Central West was one of those areas to close. Show less

I wrote and edited all news stories, preparing them for production and making sure each bulletin was going to air correctly. I carried out basic editing of my own stories, and liaised with other networks to get bulletin content before cutting and editing those stories too. Stories come from foreign news sources such as Sky UK, CNN, CBS and ABC in the US. I worked to tight deadlines and had a responsibility to write clear, concise copy that has accurate spelling and grammar for strap words and breakers. Show less

I was working as part of the sales and operations team at Lion Dairy & Drinks, implementing sales drives and other sales activities. One of my main roles was to write the weekly internal news communication about the business in Queensland. The name of this publication was "Curious QLD" and was made using Mailchimp. I developed this previously rarely-read document into a much anticipated weekly communication with interactive buttons and links. I have also used SAP, to generate price lists and view customer information. Show less
