      Hours per week: 40 Graduate Assistantship Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills: Duties include initiating and implementing recreational programs during various camps serving a wide range of ages and disabilities, and teach undergraduate courses. During the fall semesters, the GA’s planned, organized, and conducted Koinonia Retreat. This is a camp that provides the opportunities for adults 21+ with disabilities to engage in appropriate leisure/recreation programs. The program involves around 50 participants and 70 University of Tennessee students. Camp Oginali is an annual weekend camp for individuals with Down Syndrome. Responsibilities included directing the camp two consecutive years, personally programming the weekend full of outdoor learning and adventures. Camp Koinonia (CK) is outdoor weeklong education program for 150 children ages 7-21 who have multiple disabilities and 200 UT Students. CK is part of a weekly, three-hour class. GA’s wrote lesson plans, conducted the class, and programmed the camp. Lastly, the TRiPS program is part of a grant from the State Department of Education. It is a college credit course offered at UT. The graduate and undergraduate students conduct therapeutic recreation programs in Special Education Classrooms in Knox and Sevier County schools for 10 weeks.
