As AAL's communications manager I engaged with (and on behalf of) Australian avocado growers and all of the main stakeholder groups that make up the Australian avocado industry (packers, wholesalers, etc). Aiming to help grow and advance the Australian avocado industry, I developed, helped resource (via funding proposals), and implemented their Avocado Industry Communications program. The program comprised a cost effective, multi-channel integrated communications strategy involving EDM, online, offline (quarterly magazine and events) and mobile/digital elements (YouTube channel, SMS comms). I managed AAL's engagement with media contacts successfully resulting in regular positive media coverage. I established an initiative that gave AAL the means to measure and evaluate industry communications and ensure the program's constant cycle of improvement. I regularly produced content for online, digital and printed channels consulting leading researchers as required. Established AAL's first online digital media channel with a view to provide educational content for growers nation-wide. Being globally focused I coordinated two international educational study tours for growers (to New Zealand and Peru).
