I work across many areas of the school supporting classes as a teaching assistant. I am a part of the boarding team where I help to deliver high-quality evening boarding activities and ensure safety and maximise fun.This includes bedtimes, getting the boarders up, completion of prep and music practise. I am an assistant coach for an U11 hockey team where I give pep talks in matches and analyse performance to inform training sessions. A minimum of 34 hours' work experience over three months in Oasis Academy Secondary School, as part of a 3rd year module 'GEOG3039 - Ambassadors Scheme'. This involved observing a specific Year 11 geography class, assisting the teacher with lessons and teaching resources - creating new resources that have since been incorporated into another school's curriculum. Another role I undertook was as a supervisor on a field-trip to Swanage (Dorset), focusing on the impacts of tourism in an urban coastal area, teaching human geography fieldwork techniques. I also used the Year 11 self-audit of knowledge on quantitative fieldwork methodologies to develop a tailored lesson plan aimed at targeting areas of weakness, which I then taught to the class I had been observing. A week's placement of self-organised work experience in Catherine Lady Berkeley Secondary School: observing geography lessons of years 7-13, helping students in their lessons and assisting the teacher with preparing resources for lessons. I also presented a talk on 'Geography at University' outlining what the subject of geography looks like at university level and the opportunities it brings, drawing on my experiences and those of my contemporaries. Summer Camp Counselor

I worked as a camp counselor, working closely with my co-counselor to supervise as group of around 11 children at a time in day-time activities, mealtimes and evening entertainment, ensuring their well-being and enjoyment of the camp experience. I often kept the children entertained through spontaneous group singing and maintained high energy and effort levels consistently throughout the summer. In this role I was part of the younger girls unit and reported to a chief counselor. I built upon my teamwork and communication skills in this role through managing large groups of children and was responsible for the children's medical bags at all times. I was trained in basic first aid and safeguarding as part of initial training to be a camp counselor. I was chosen by senior leadership staff as the 'Top Female Staff Member' for the first season of camp. I was voted by my colleagues at the end of the Summer as the 'Female Rookie' of the year. First Year Course Representative

I sat on the Student Staff Liason Committee where I listened to lecture feedback on modules. I was a liaison between the first year students and the lecturers and directors of year. I effectively communicated issues in a clear coherent manner to the senior academics. Sitting on the meetings enabled insight into the path of progress and change within a university course. From this I saw how the changes discussed in the meeting affected the first years that arrived in Sept 2016 from our discussions in the previous academic year. Show less
