Being that 310 Rosemont is located in Virginia, the boutique frequented many college campuses as the shop owner went on University tours once a semester. The sale would only last for about five days, however, I joined the team for most of the time we shared on campus. I unloaded the truck, arranged the visual displays, participated in merchandising and stock room activities, worked on the floor and completed sales, in addition to repacking and reloading the truck before the sale moved on. I assisted the restaurant owners and Executive Chef in the kitchen where I prepped, cooked, grilled, baked, and plated the dishes designed by my Exec. However, I was active in the process of choosing ingredients and appropriate dish display in addition to inventing my own sauces, as a specialty of the venue. I was stationed in the "Home" department in an area that specialized in kitchen goods, appliances, gadgets and cutlery in addition to many other items such as razors and home-care goods. I mobilized between the various areas on the floor; the wedding registry, fine china, Waterford crystal as well as in bath and linens. I primarily worked on the floor and in the stock rooms and most enjoyed arranging product displays and merchandising activities. I conducted interviews in person/ over the phone with individuals in the fashion industry as well as attended marketing appointments and showrooms to evaluate upcoming lines. I wrote many articles about unique sustainable fabrics, specific highlighted individuals, featured items of the month as well as did write-ups for notable trunk shows. I also had some experience in art direction when I assisted in a photo-shoot that I designed a portion of personally. I facilitated an after-school art program in two locations. The larger class consisted of approximately 20-25 children ranging from pre-k to the third grade. At this location I worked once a week with two older women to come up with rudimentary art projects such as clay and collage. The second location I worked alone with only three students in a Cartooning class. This position awarded me greater authority as I was able to invent the curriculum purely on my own where me and my three students met once a week creating our own characters and comic books.
