  Summer 2016, we present a unique platform for contemporary artists, musicians, performers, and filmmakers. The idea behind Club Gem is to accomplish fading boundaries between different art forms. From 23 June to 23 July 2016, Club Gem organizes various art, music, and cinema activities. The club presents a sales exhibition of works by more than 25 leading artists. The pieces are all under a thousand euros. This is the place to be, to invest in upcoming, contemporary artists. You do not need to be a connoisseur. Like music, the love of art is a matter of taste and emotion. At Club Gem I manage the gallery in the evenings and help organize events.   Theoneminutesjr. is part of The One Minutes Foundation. Theoneminutesjr. is an organization that has been setting up film workshops for youngsters in (developing) countries around the world. Supported by UNICEF, they have been able to visit remote places, war zones and even refugee camps to teach local youngsters skills to express themselves in a creative way. The result of each workshop is a one minute film, which often gives an original insight into the lives of these youngsters. The subjects can be tough and painful, but the expression is playful and personal, making these one minute films highly original reflections of life in a certain place. Each year the best 15 films are nominated for the Tommy Award. The young film makers are invited to Amsterdam during the renown International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA). Here, their films are shown on the big screen, after which they participate in a special Master Class and stay in the city for 5 days. During two consecutive years (2014, 2015) I have been in charge of the publicity for The One Minutes jr. during the IDFA. I have arranged interviews and articles with the daily newspaper NRC and the Amsterdam radio station Amsterdam FM. Next to my role as publicist, I was responsible for helping to coordinate the event; accommodation, filming and workshop locations, dinner arrangements, coordinating transportation, keeping track of finances as well as being present during the whole event and coordinating the press, the youngsters and the UNICEF chaperones.
