A six month contract position, the Program Assistant position is part RA, part office administrator and event coordinator. This opportunity is providing a daily, hands-on event coordinating environment; planning trips, tours, and on-site events for 100+ students. Embracing and thriving in a foreign work environment and culture has increased my knowledge and ability to adapt, and allowed an increase in my coordinating and planning skills. This semester I worked as the Volunteer Coordinator and Assistant Sponsor Relations Intern for the Valero Texas Open, PGA Tour tournament. I coordinated and scheduled a staff of 1600+ volunteers prior to and during tournament week. I also worked with their inaugural social media team to brand the tournament and establish an online presence. I coordinated social media promotions, scheduled updates and posts, and outlined a continued social media plan for after the tournament.
