  During the final year of my studies for my bachelor's degree, my university had a partnership with Halcyon Mobile to develop a flat-mate searching native Android application. The purpose of the app was to offer a social-network platform where students get flat-mate candidate recommendations based on their answers to our personality tests. These quizzes surveyed the cleanliness, hobbies, pet-friendliness, and other aspects of individuals which we have found to be essential when it comes to choosing the right person to share your roof with the following academic term. Development involved gaining significant experience in using the Android SDK, Kotlin programming language, MVVM, and MVP software design patterns, Coroutines for asynchronous calls, creating modern UI using the Material Design library, and using Kodein for dependency injection. For the backend part we combined the web API written in JavaScript hosted in Backend-as-a-Service Node.js with Firebase PaaS in order to enjoy the formerly mentioned platform’s advantages (like Firebase Authentication and Real-time database) while adding our own customizations. As the group's lead developer among my responsibilities were: developing the product on both frontend and backend side, maintaining Agile principles by implementing and managing Scrum methodologies, and handling the pipeline with GitLab's Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tool. I've also had the opportunity to get familiar with Activity and Fragment lifecycles and to use LiveData and Retrofit library for API calls with the guidance of mentors from Halcyon. Show less

  In the summer of 2019 I have worked as an intern at Cylex. During the weeks I have spent there, we programmed in JavaScript using Node.js robots to solve labyrinth challenges. Besides robot programming, we had the chance to get familiar with Drupal and Bootstrap. The skills we gained were showcased in exercise websites that offered the chance to play labyrinth games or explore galleries. In the summer of 2019 I have worked as an intern at Cylex.
