  I designed a pilot project to improve shelters, livelihoods, and shelter repair skills for refugees in the Bidibidi refugee settlement.Prepared the needs assessment tools, collected and analyzed data, and developed the assessment report and the project proposal that was funded with over USD 100,000/=.Prepared the project implementation plan, work plans and work breakdown structures, project budget, and the M&E plan.I was the project focal point for a consortium with 3 organizations led by Every Shelter (Every Shelter, HYT and Alight) in undertaking discussions, innovations, and giving the project direction.Guided and advised on protection and gender mainstreaming of the project with full emphasis on the AGD approaches.Established and designed the recruitment processes of the Shelter Depot Program Coordinator for the project.Supported in the recruitment process.

  • I am in charge of 250 vulnerable adolescent school drop outs in 9 zones of the settlement which gives refuge to over 70,000 persons under Bureau for Population, Refugees and Migration (BPRM) funding.• Conduct trainings on life skills such as self awareness, interpersonal relationships, effective communication, critical thinking, decision making skills, empathy, creative thinking, emotional and stress coping skills• Facilitate 20 sessions monthly for 250 adolescents on career guidance and counselling.• Train the children on human rights and responsibilities as displaced children.• Have conducted 12 community dialogues with the host and refugees’ communities on peaceful co-existence since Kyaka 2 refugees’ settlement in an actively receiving point for all refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo.• I am charged with drafting weekly, monthly, quarterly, activity reports together with detailed work plans clearly following the indicators as they are provided in the project logical framework

  Was supervised in the legal department where I was entrusted with • Assisting asylum seekers appeal for reviews on failed Refugee Status Determination application interviews. • Conducting weekly sensitisations on Ugandan laws, refugee rights and responsibilities to the refugees and asylum seekers. • Facilitating and watching brief during the mobile courts for the refugees on a monthly basis to avail justice. • Conducted and facilitated capacity building of the community structures the SGBV SASA methodology of combating violence in the community. • Made prison visits on a monthly basis and weekly police visits to identify and support refugees in contact with the laws but as well as following up with their cases to ensure they had been given an opportunity to a fair hearing and trial. • Was part of the organizing committee on World Refugee Day June/20/2017 which was attended by over 3000 people. I was in charge of reporting on the events of the day.

  I worked under the urban refugee program where I served up to 100,000 people in the urban program in the legal department. • Scheduled 40 clients daily for counselling and guidance on legal matters in the urban refugee setting. • Developed 40 individual daily client reports giving a detailed account of each individual that had sought assistance at the office. • Scheduled clients for resettlement interviews with UNHCR official and gave timely feedback on the results of their interviews, • Provided psychosocial support to the clients who had been rejected for resettlement. • Was part of the organizing committee and the reporter on World Refugee Day June/20/2016 which was attended by over 2000 people. • I did interpretation in Kiswahili for refugees that didn’t understand English during communications with the staff. • Organized and implemented the Tunaweza Youth Music Festival with 25 performing groups and over 1500 attendees.
