Executive role focused on Indigenous business development related to land management, land acquisition, and strategic initiatives across WA. Significant results of my efforts included the development of collaborative funding for several new strategic projects, for example Farm Training WA; the state-wide pastoral-based Indigenous Landholder Service Program; and the Kimberley Ranger Program. These projects achieved significant targeted outcomes and delivered substantial Indigenous benefit. For example, the Indigenous Land Corporation Board and the State Government approved a joint investment of $8.1m over five years to fund the on-ground development of Indigenous-held Pastoral Leases, plus the overarching governance and management structure.

    • Regional Bushcare Program Manager
      • Apr 1998 - Mar 2002

My work involved being part of a regional, state and national team focused on landscape scale environmental change and methods to integrate biodiversity conservation and sustainable agriculture. My success was based on my ability to establish long-term planning and thinking at both a local and regional scale. I was able to influence the change process via communication and strong leadership across government, community, and especially with land owners and managers. My approach was based on building capacity to achieve lasting change. A key result was the establishment of a rigorous on-ground project design, assessment, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation process.
