The new role of Vice President for Mission was created to ensure that the mission is incorporated into all aspects of the programs and processes at Loyola, and that they are in sync with those of all other Ignatian/Jesuit and Catholic apostolates. With the backing of the Board of Directors and the Office of the President, I now oversee the development and implementation of programs that will sustain the promotion of Loyola High School’s Catholic identity, Ignatian heritage and Jesuit mission. As a Catholic Jesuit high school community every stakeholder works to advance Loyola’s Ignatian/Jesuit mission, so it is my responsibility to focus, direct , and support those efforts on campus as well as with our apostolic partners at the local Ignatian/Jesuit, archdiocesan, provincial and national levels.

    • Assistant Principal for Ministry
      • Apr 2009 - Jul 2017

A member of the Administrative Team, I currently oversee the Ministry Department -- a team of educators/ministers who direct the Offices of Campus Ministry, Community Service, Adult Spirituality and a Coalition for Justice and Peace for a student body of almost 1300 high school boys and a faculty/staff of 180 adults. My primary responsibilities revolve around Mission & Identitiy; the heart of the work is human development through education and Ignatian spiritual formation; that is, "forming women and men for and with others" through various experiences of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. The work takes me into classrooms, board rooms, meeting spaces, local community schools and agencies, retreat venues, and more. I currently serve the California / Oregon Provinces (the future USA Western Province) of the Society of Jesus on the Mission & Vision Committee. And, I am an adjunct member of a leadership team for the Seminars in Ignatian Leadership with the Jesuit Schools Network (JSN).
