Ann joined our management team as leader of Missoula’s transportation planning division at a challenging time. The division was very busy implementing an award-winning transportation plan while the staff was coping with the medical retirement of her predecessor, a long time and well-loved community leader. Ann assumed leadership in a very professional manner and managed the division’s work, running the Missoula Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Missoula in Motion transportation demand management program, in an exemplary way while getting to know the staff and elected and appointed leadership. She then added several new initiatives, including an active transportation plan, development of a multimodal travel demand model, regular bicycle and pedestrian counts, and a semi-annual

Ann took on a leadership role with the Charlottesville MPO after just a year of learning the ropes. She orchestrated every facet of updating the region's Long Range Transportation Plan, including the public process, coordination with three advisory committees, the Policy Board, and collaboration with state and federal agencies. She possesses vision, energy, and a clear sense of program mission and purpose, perceiving and responding to challenges and opportunities. In short, she was a great employee and valued member of the TJPDC team.
