  ● Responsible for directing 17 faculty members and 14 para-professionals to improve the performance and experience for 288 students with a priority focus on compliance management ● Development of master schedule for students, including teacher assignments, assignment of course teams and recommendation of room assignments through leadership collaboration ● Create best in class delivery of special education programs and services to ensure compliance with legal guidelines by monitoring, providing assistance, resources, and support as needed ● Coordinate and implement the class schedules for students who have Individual Education Plans, which includes attending transition meetings for students in the 8th grade ● Facilitate eligibility and IEP conferences as the local education agent representative for students and ensure policy and procedures are being followed during meetings ● Monitor the academic success of students by providing data to the school improvement team and response to interventions to drive improved outcomes ● Ensure all key parties have appropriate level of communication by serving as a liaison between parents and other special education teachers ● Support school social worker in assisting special education students classified as McKinney Vento ● Collaborate with school psychologist, speech pathologist, occupational/physical therapist, and teachers of the visual and hearing impaired to support students’ needs ● Partner with strategic outside agencies to support students in treatment facilities, therapeutic foster care, and the court system ● Assist in the planning and implementation of staff development in-service and training programs for special education and general education staff 9-12 ● Facilitate the screening and hiring of department personnel, and evaluate special education teachers and potentially paraprofessional staff ● Preparation, administration, and oversight of departmental budget including review and approve requests for materials
