  As senior researcher and therapist at PsyQ I instigate research and offer CBT to patients with different kind of anxiety disorders. The department of anxiety disorders is TopGGZ awarded which implies that our main aim is to offer top clinical care to patients who often report complicated psychiatric problems. My reseach focus is on developing and investigating transdiagnostic treatment interventions for anxiety disorders. Moreover, at the moment we are researching the feasibility of network theory and use of smartphone applications for patients with OCD with as main aim to offer more personalize diagnostics and treatment interventions.

  At the digital poli I am responsible for research into EHealth and the treatment of patients with anxiety and depressive disorders by means of screen-to-screen interactions and chat, supported by app functions. At the digital poli the dynamics between patient and therapist are different from the consultation room, as you treat patients in their personal environment. This has important implications for treatment. I feel it is both interesting and important to understand and learn how innovative technologies offer the promise to better mental health care treatments. In order to assess the effectiveness of these innovations I also conduct research. I am especially interested if these developments form a pathway towards personalised medicine in mental health care.

  The scientific newsletter of the VGCT seeks to connect clinical practice and current scientific developments in CBT and psychopathology through engaging articles and reviews. As editor-in-chief I am responsible for the content of this newsletter. Both as an active writer and as an editor. I also enjoy my role as a roving reporter of conferences and workshops on CBT. Furthermore, I help developing factsheets of different mental disorders and treatments, and write book reviews. I also wrote an ELearning module about the "zorgstandaard angststoornissen" in collaboration with the VGCT, the NVGzP and the NIP.
