Band 6 Senior Radiographer; As a Senior Radiographer my duties extended to include CT scanning using a Siemens scanner. I performed various CT examinations from plain Brain scans, CAP ,CTPAs, CT Biopsy / Drainage and CT KUB. During this training period I also successfully completed an IV cannulation program and developed that skill through daily practice. I provided this service on a rotational 24hour basis. •I was trained in MRI using a Siemens Magnetom 1.5 tesla. We dealt with outpatients, inpatients and A/E patients of all ages newborn - adult. Procedures ranged from Brain scans to contrast enhanced Breast / small bowel Studies. Once trained I was asked to alter my working hours from 9 - 5 to 7.30 - 3.30 to enable additional patients to be scanned, and I was happy to do so. •I was trained in DEXA scanning to cover holidays / sickness and also DR plain film imaging.
