I've known Anita Jenke for many years in her role as the executive director of the Career Transition Center of Chicago and as a career coach. Anita is the ideal and rare combination of an effective, strong non-profit leader and caring helping professional. She brings the full array of skills and experience needed to be effective in any nonprofit leadership role — managing program budget and finances, recruiting, managing and developing staff, program development and facilitation, fundraising and community outreach. Anita's strong interpersonal skills enable her to communicate and relate well with staff, clients, board members, volunteer coaches, sponsors and community partners — a huge asset and strength. She knows how to get the job done, even in challenging times, like a pandemic. As a career development professional and coach, Anita is committed to the success of the clients served by CTC. She understands the nuts and bolts of career management and job search, and excels in giving clients the tools they need to move forward effectively and confidently. Anita is also an insightful, helpful coach and skilled at helping clients understand and articulate their strengths to prospective employers. Overall, Anita is very smart, savvy and incredibly capable AND she's driven by a sense of mission and genuine caring for people. I have great respect and admiration for Anita as a person, as a coach and as a leader who wants to make a difference and does.

I had the pleasure of working as Anita's Program Director at Career Transitions Center from 2015-2019. In addition to successfully leading the organization through 9 years of growth and success, ending each fiscal year with a surplus, Anita encouraged and empowered staff to develop new business strategies and revenue streams that would take us into the next era. She has the ability to work effectively with our Board, volunteers, staff and interns, keeping open channels of communication and a positive rapport among all parties. Through her leadership, we were was able to grow and expand the organization in exciting new ways and provide services to individuals in need. Anita fully and enthusiastically supports her staff to bring bold ideas and new programs to the organization and provides autonomy and empowerment for each of us to work to our strengths and bring our best to the organization. I owe my personal and professional growth and success over the past 4 years to Anita, with much gratitude.
