Phase I: Structures Engineering (10 months) - Worked on structural analysis of integrally bladed Low Pressure Compressor rotor blades for an advanced military engine program. - Conducted Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS for static and modal analysis of airfoils to predict goodman capabilities and assess flutter and resonance effects. - Categorized airfoil mode shapes and prepared Campbell diagrams for use in flutter and resonance analysis, surge and tuned absorber analysis. Phase II: Design Engineering (8 months) - Worked on production phase of an advanced military engine program, using Teamcenter and Siemens NX CAD software. - Developed and designed components for bird ingestion test rig and prepared blueprint drawings for manufacture. - Prepared cross-sectional layouts of rotor-case assembly and reviewed engineering drawings for dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements using ASME Y14.5M-1994. - Created presentations for design reviews. Phase III: Project Engineering (8 months) - Coordinated between various engineering teams to support the design and production phase of the NGPF 17K Engine program by identifying KPI's, presenting deliverables in weekly and daily meetings and maintaining Level I, II and III schedules using Microsoft Project. - Provided support in a Technical Review for a Class I Engineering Change Proposal. - Helped create manpower and budget "waterline" plans for the engine program. Also worked on assessment of new supplier capabilities to ramp up production.

The course is for final year students based on reverse engineering an existing product through a systematic product design approach. The course covers topics from gathering and comprehending information from customer interviews through concept generation and selection, design, prototyping, testing and fabrication of a final product. As a TA, my work included conducting lab sessions twice a week to guide students through the project and aid in scheduling their work. Other tasks included reviewing weekly design notebooks, project reports, tests and presentations.

Course: Design of Machine Elements; Instructed by: Dr. Ben Black. The undergraduate course was evaluated on theoretical and practical components. As a TA, I was tasked with guiding the students throughout their project work on designing drag race cars. I also held weekly office hours to help the students with theoretical concepts and homework and graded their assignments.
