Deployed MRP based inventory management for high LT high $ value parts to optimize on-hand inventory vs logistic costs. Improved movement of internal parts via lean techniques to mitigate material shortages; resulting in increase in OTD from 42% to 96%. - Reduced inventory by $1.8M by defining and implementing various initiatives and standards across the plant as a part of Fortive Materials System (FMS) team. Worked with supplier on consolidating design for boxes/inserts and minimizing SKUs. Implemented a switch from custom to stock boxes to order more frequently and hold minimum inventory on slow running finished goods. Moved to warehouse stocking (min/max) on fast turning items as a cost reduction program. Kanban Leader - Implemented changes in visual kanban and material handling approach from break-a-bag to a 2-bin system in cells with a goal of zero material shortages, 20% inventory reduction and 95% OTD. - Led material Kaizens: Visual management in capacity constraint areas, Apply TOC to increase throughput in feeder cells by holding WIP kanbans, Level-loading (heijunka) vs due date scheduling, Hold finished goods inv. to buffer against demand spikes from customers. - Participated in various other kaizen events throughout the plant to support development of better processes, creation of standard works and implementation of lean principles for material management.
