  (The Distance Education Programme – Sarva shiksha Abhiyan (DEP-SSA) is an initiative under Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India entrusted to Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) New Delhi. DEP – SSA envisages strengthening of the various programmes under SSA for training of teachers and teacher educator thereby bringing about quality improvement of education at Elementary level. The project makes use of distance learning mode to reach large target groups in a cost effective manner.
