  • Performs work per the quality work plans and standard work process. • Complete rework on products rejected by quality inspection and works with other production areas and cell leaders, as necessary. • Provide leadership in a team environment for production scheduling and team goals. • Develop and implement improvements to the manufacturing process that have a direct positive effect on production, quality, and safety. • Work safely, follow the organizations safety rules and regulations, and assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. • Setup and operate one or more vertical or horizontal honing machines to hone internal or external surfaces of objects, like cylinders, bearings, and connecting rods to specifications, following tooling instructions, standard charts, and honing procedures. • Read blueprint job order for product specifications, like dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be honed, speeds, feed rates, work-holding fixtures, and honing tools to be used. • Position secures fixtures on machine table, using squares, steel rules, micrometres, and wrenches. • Lift workpiece manually or with hoist and positions and secures fixture with clamps wrenches. • Insert tightens specified tool in spindle. • Move controls to set tool-feed rate spindle speed. • Set stops with wrench to control length of stroke depth of cut. • Start machine and turns handwheels or engages automatic mechanism to feed oscillate tool along workpiece surface. • Turn valve handle to direct flow of coolant against tool workpiece. • Measure honed workpiece for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, like pre-set gauges, micrometres, callipers, and comparators.
