I spent a month in Hermanus, South Africa with the South African Shark Conservancy. We did a range of field work including tagging, taking baited remote underwater videos (BRUVs) and estuary monitoring. We also did work in the lab including cleaning tanks, making bait for fishing, giving lab tours to the general public as well as making and presenting scientific presentations. • Volunteer at Barefoot Conservation in Indonesia
      • May 2018 - Jun 2018

I volunteered with Barefoot Conservation in Raja Ampat, Indonesia for a month in the summer of 2018. I was trained for fish, substrate and invertebrate identification to do Reef Check surveys. We dove twice every week day to do either reef check surveys, nudibranch hunts, manta ray surveys, or crown of thorns dives to try and help control their populations.
