Prepare reports or make recommendations to document the observations and findings with regard to insurance company operations, transactions, and financial reporting practices in accordance to California laws and regulations as well as the NAIC statutory accounting practices and procedures. Determine regulatory courses of action regarding identified potential or troubled companies and communicate to the insurance company management via letters, e-mails, conference calls and/or meetings. Make recommendations to approve or disapprove various requested transactions from the insurance companies. Transactions include: certificate of authority, acquisition, merger, management/service agreement, tax allocation agreement, reinsurance agreements, lease agreement, agent agreements, and extraordinary/ordinary dividend. Coordinate and communicate with departmental division leaders, other state insurance departments, and the insurers regarding various issues.
