PI: John R. Monterosso, Ph. D ASC is working towards a mechanistic understanding of self-control success and failure. In much of our work, we use functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). We are also interested in addiction and obesity, both of which bring self-control struggle to the fore. I am currently collaborating with a PhD postgrad on a project investigating the effects of glucose consumption on anticipation of monetary rewards with varying immediacy and magnitude. PI: John R. PI: Irving Biederman, Ph. D The core mission of the IUL is to understand how we get the mind from the brain. Main focuses include face, object, and scene recognition. My project dealt with analyzing the USC Face Perception Test which seeks to measure the ability of participants to differentiate faces.
