I take full responsibility for attaining contracts and the delivery of all construction related projects within the company. I work closely with my Mechanical and Electrical Colleagues to ensure we combine our unique skills and extensive experience together for the benefit of our clients. I take a hands-on approach to all clients and projects, which is beneficial when encountering any challenges on projects. Taylor and Fraser specialise in refurbishment projects, particularly the conservation of listed and historic buildings which range from Country Houses and Estates in remote locations to buildings within the confines of City Centres. The locations we work in certainly pose unique challenges, however our expertise lends itself to overcoming these successfully. Refurbishments works with high building services content allow Taylor and Fraser to ensure the best solutions for our clients, and we always take a practical and pragmatic approach to our projects. As a company with over 110 years’ experience in the construction industry, allied with a vast track of specialist refurbishment, we are able to ensure new services are incorporated into historic buildings sensitively. We are aware of the unique challenges presented by old buildings as well as the agencies involved such as Historical Environment Scotland, whom we work with closely to preserve buildings carefully. I am proud to have played a part in the restoration of a number of prestigious historic buildings including Dumfries House, Gleneagles House, Crawforton House, as well as construction work on a vast range of buildings in the public sector such as Glasgow School of Art, The Royal Alexandra Hospital and The University of Strathclyde. I have significant experience of working at Senior Director level within major contractors and PLC’s, which has given me a broad overview of all aspects of the business. Having started out in site management I have a practical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Show less
