Oct 2016 - Aug 2018
The business was started with the goal of selling off an existing collection of vehicles and parts. Initially using Ebay, parts were sent all over the UK and some to Europe. Latterly Facebook Marketplace became the dominant selling platform, even with a vastly reduced market. There were far less problem customers and no fee's which was a great saving. Larger items were sold directly to metal recycling centers. The business was started with the goal of selling off an existing collection of vehicles and parts. Jan 2011 - Nov 2011
I found a market for the repair of Music Instrument Amplifiers and carried out a number of repairs for Musicians in Aberdeenshire. My repairs ranged from minor services to full circuit rebuilds. I found the work very interesting but there was not the volume of work available to turn this into a a full time venture. Vehicle Dismantler (Part Time)
-
Jun 2008 - Jul 2010
During my leave from Offshore duties I bought and dismantled a number of vehicles for parts and scrap metal sales. Using online sites and newspapers adverts I sold a number of large and small car components and shipped to UK or Europe. The work was very interesting and I found trends in the types and ages of vehicles that sold well.
