  GEI1001/GET1050 - Computational reasoning is a digital literacy module that covers the fundamentals and philosophy of data analytics. It asks the important question of how we can incorporate computational tools to tackle problems in the real world. This module not only enables students to: • Use Microsoft Excel and code in VBA; • Teaches students to be critical of the politics that can arise from algorithm designs; • How to be more socially aware of underlying biases and assumptions when interpreting data. As a teaching assistant under the UTOA2001PH Undergraduate Teaching Opportunities Programme (UTOP), I conduct and facilitate physical GEI1001/GET1050 bi-weekly tutorials.   Upon being appointed the privilege of ascending to the vice-president position for the SCC, I selected two departments of choice to oversee as an executive advisor during my term: Academic Affairs and Community Service.My experiences included guiding the newly elected directors in their roles, as well as easing them into the structure and procedures of planning initiatives and events under the council. It was particularly enjoyable to be able to manage my departments, with my involvement being to review their plans and proposals, to advise based on my experience as a director in my previous term, and ensuring the success of their events by reaching out to external student leadership bodies to secure additional promotions or collaborations.As one of the four executive members, I was also to address internal affairs of the council, as well as handling the SCC email, both replying emails directed to me and my departments, as well as sending out emails on their behalf.   As the community service director, I had the opportunity to work alongside my members who were passionate about improving the social, economic, as well as environmental awareness of students on campus. We designed and executed various initiatives to involve their contributions back to the community, while always keeping in mind a few selected United Nations SDGs each time to guide our focus.In particular, I pursued the '50 Acts of Sustainability' social media campaign to spread awareness of specific off-and-on-campus actions students can take to be more environmentally friendly citizens. My team and I believed in building a strong foundation of an eco-friendly mindset in our fellow classmates to develop into positive habits in the future. Show less
