1999 Open Learning Center Advisor (secondment) Great Homer Street and Breck Road Libraries. I was seconded to this post to coordinate and launch the new "Open for Leaning" centers at these community Libraries. My duties included Selection and purchase of computer equipment for the center. Selection of open learning stock and software. Advising the public on a one-to-one basis, how to use the Internet and other audio-visual and computer based learning resources available. Training of Community Library staff in the use of the equipment and the resources available. Promotion of the service. Coordinating liaison with other educational providers, and project partners.; to Libraries (secondment) I worked for 2 weeks each month at Connect the Public computing center in Liverpool Central Library. Duties included one-to-one instruction in the use of the Internet and email, taking bookings, cash handling, monitoring usage, preparation of statistics.; Express Pilot Project (secondment) Development of Internet Café service into Libraries on Merseyside. Included training of Library staff in Internet and email applications, assisting users at drop in sessions, ensuring customers completed questionnaires, interviewing attendees on training courses.
