      SOC WEL 110: Social Work as a Profession (Fall 2022) This course examines social work as a profession: the practice of the profession, the organizational context of professional practice, and the ethics of the profession. SOC WEL 282A: Introduction to Social Welfare Research (Spring 2022 & 2021) This course is designed to provide an overview of epistemological paradigms and the various research methods that inform social welfare research and practice. Gender and Women's Studies 100: Introduction to Women and Gender Studies (Fall 2021) Introduction to questions and concepts in gender and women's studies through the critical study of the formation of gender and its intersections with other relations of power, such as sexuality, racialization, class, religion, nation and empire. Questions will be addressed within the context of a transnational world. SOC WEL 220: Introduction to Social Welfare Policy (Fall 2020) This course introduces key issues in social welfare policy and recent trends shaping the development of the American welfare state.
