I started as a food and beverage server in May 2015 and quickly worked my way up to Bartending. As a member of the hospitality team we are trained to create a warm atmosphere, provide exceptional customer service, and anticipate the needs of our clients. As a bartender, my responsibilities included managing inventory, organizing the stock rooms, sending in new orders, and checking deliveries. This job has allowed me to develop my teamwork, organization, and multitasking skills, while enhancing my work ethic and customer service. Show less

Formulation Scientist
-
Aug 2017 - May 2018
This lab had a small team of talented formulation specialists who focused on a vast range of personal care products. We researched the best way to enhance the products through manipulating the reaction between emulsifiers and surfactants to optimize the binding affinities. As a formulation scientist, I was required to lead projects, create formulations, run viscosity and microbial tests, and monitor for any stability changes. While working at ACT Solutions, I specialized in topical lotions, sunscreens, toothpastes, cleansing formulations, skincare, and color cosmetics. Show less

Peer Mentor

Feb 2017 - May 2017
I worked as a peer mentor to an Introduction to Biochemistry course under Dr. Catherine L. Grimes. I led a group of 4 students through a discussion of noteworthy scientific papers for 3 hours a week. As a team, we analyzed the papers and I aided the students in drawing larger and relevant scientific concepts. Outside of class, Dr. Grimes and the peer mentors met once a week to devise future lesson plans and strategized on innovative learning techniques.
