I volunteered for the “A new beginning of volunteering” project, during which I assisted the organizers, attendants. I welcomed, registered the attendants of the volunteering course, handed in the papers concerning the attendants’ upcoming work, took pictures and videos during the process. I sometimes joined the attendants during the teamwork, which was a great experience for me, as during one group work one of the members did not do anything, did not communicate with others, which helped me to develop problem, conflict solving skills. After assisting the attendants, helping the organizers, I gained management and organizational skills.

I sorted seeds of plants, vegetables, packaged tea leaves, dry fruits. I also stored, arranged and looked through different books about agriculture, organic food, etc. As I had to be at the office where my volunteering took place every day at the same time, after this experience I became a punctual person. I also learnt a lot about types of tea leaves and how to differentiate them by their color, size, scent. After packaging the tea leaves, dry fruits and seeds, I also arranged them according to their types, which taught me the importance and niceness of organizing, accuracy.

In ISSD I did translations of both texts and audio files from Armenian to English and vice versa. All the texts and audio files that I have translated during my work were mainly related to "Recycle it" program, which besides enriching my English and Armenian vocabulary and improving my grammar from English, also gave me a huge knowledge about recycling and sorting waste. I understood that plastic is really dangerous for environment and that by recycling it humans can gain other important things and ornaments; thus, benefit themselves.

This was my first volunteering experience, during which I sorted clothes, books, and other things for children from orphanage in Globbing. This was one of the volunteering experiences thanks to which I benefited somehow to children in need. As this was my first volunteering and I was really excited, stressed, I learnt how to cope with stress quickly and blend in a new environment. During my volunteering in “Investing Projects Implementation Unit Building up of Yerevan” CNCO I archived, filed project photos and videos, and participated in design work of project banners. From this volunteering I learnt to work in team, got to know some design skills and skills of accuracy while filing the pictures and videos.
