I collaborated with an editorial staff of 10 to produce the campus newspaper every week. I also contributed ideas that would increase our readership and online presence, such as "Torch Docs," our first video segment of the paper. Thanks to our hard work, our paper won first-place classification from the American Scholastic Press Association’s annual newspaper review for the first time since 2009. Perhaps one of the most important parts of my responsibilities was to work with staff and contributors to effectively grow our coverage of the University. I held weekly meetings to talk about possible story ideas as well as answer any questions the staff had. When it came time for production night, I edited and fact checked about six to seven pieces each week for publication. I also designed the news section for print with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
