As Managing Editor, I oversee a dynamic new multimedia initiative (launching in Fall 2022) that will source and share stories celebrating arts, creativity, and culture in the Midwest and the Native Nations within that geography. Arts Midwest believes that creativity has the power to inspire and unite humanity. Based in Minneapolis, Arts Midwest supports, informs, and celebrates creative organizations and communities throughout the nine-state region of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, and the Native nations that share these geographies. We are one of six United States Regional Arts Organizations, a national collective of six place-based nonprofit arts service organizations committed to strengthening America’s infrastructure by increasing access to creativity for all Americans.

Our interactions with art, especially process and concept, are often fleeting. In a world where what we see and experience is driven by want and immediacy, No Business Magazine encourages readers to slow down while exploring stories of artists and art-making. No Business Magazine is a collaborative project by Angela Zonunpari, with support from Hanna Thompson, Amy Jarding, Eli Show and other writers/artists across the country. The Waterers are a regional group of fund stewards whose vision is to radically transform the paradigm of ‘giving’ from a scarcity economy model to one of abundance and cooperation. Their mission is to propel the philanthropic field to change how it redistributes funding to prioritize BIPOC Artists and culture-bearers who have been historically exploited. Their values are a compass, both in who receives funds and shapes their process. They boldly diverge from the types of traditional ‘grant making’ experienced by many. They believe in mending the connective tissue to deepen the roots of relation, and taking risks to build trust and capacity through every step of design and decision making. Their choices seek reconciliation. Learn more at www.waterers.org.

Fresh Produce is an advertising agency, that also supports an art space (Ipso Gallery) and a gardening radio show (Rock Garden Tour) based in downtown Sioux Falls, SD. At FP, I work a few different roles depending on the client or project. My broad skill-set and experience has helped me take on a variety of tasks — including photography, videography, post-production, copywriting, social media management, public relations and research. I also play an active role in helping the Ipso Gallery director in organizing, installing, coordinating and promoting exhibitions.

BRIC is the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, and one of the largest in New York City. As an arts and culture non-profit, it offers a public media center with digital media education, a major contemporary art exhibition space, and artist work spaces. At BRIC, I taught digital media classes with video, photo and design concepts. They were certification, non-certification and free classes, which include digital storytelling, video editing with Adobe Premiere, introduction to graphic design with Adobe Photoshop, introduction to digital photography and so on. In these classes, I always had a very diverse set of students with a range of skills and interests (and even beginners), so I tried to cater and drive the lessons in a way that addressed their needs, especially when it came to understanding technical skills and conceptual techniques.

I created videos from documentaries about Tibetan medical practises around the world for the exhibition 'Bodies in Balance: The Art of Tibetan Medicine'. In addition to this, I edited various talks from the Brainwave series among others, creating promos for our YouTube channel (with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Isabella Rossellini and Walter 'Clyde' Frazier), and promos for upcoming meditation and yoga weeks at the museum. During this, I also archived talks and programs from 2008 to 2014. I plan to work on a short contract project editing programs for the museum July onwards.

After a seven-month posting in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), I was shifted to New Delhi to be a part of the team that started a new project, the National Edition. This covered the production of four regional editions -- Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand. I was part of the team that initiated the use of two new softwares (a new CMS system and Adobe InDesign) at the publication. I actively participated in the story selection process, rewriting, editing, packaging, placement and design for page one and main national pages for these editions.
