As a Teacher Assistant my main duty was supporting teachers with various tasks. Tasks included clerical work such as copying, filing, creating assignments, and grading. I mainly assisted special education teachers, working one on one with students or small groups with IEPs to enhance their learning process and facilitate the teacher's classroom and lessons. Additional duties consist of substituting for various speciality teachers (Art, Music, Etc) as well as supervision of classes during office hours, lunch, or prep-time. Show less

  • Suffolk County Legislature
    • Hauppauge, New York
    • Page Intern
      • May 2019 - Aug 2020

First summer internship: During this internship I worked in the eighth legislative district office of Bill Lindsay where I researched various public policy issues, drafted proclamations and certificates, created poster/social media advertisements, and assisted with constituent issues. Additionally I acted as a mock legislator in the mock Suffolk County legislature. Within this I crafted multiple pieces of legislation, voted on resolutions, passed capital and operating budgets to remove a 1 billion dollar deficit, and immersed myself in county government through workshops and assignments. Second Summer Internship: Took on the role as a Senior Page, helping assist the program supervisors with the operation of the internship program itself. I served as a mock Page Clerk in the virtual legislature meetings conducted. This consisted of making resolutions, editing and revising resolutions, creating agendas for general and committee meetings, and conducting votes virtually during meetings. Show less
