As a Mental Health Therapist, I provide individual, family, and group therapy in a school-based partial hospital setting. Patients who attend the program are between the ages of 5 and 14 and have a variety of mental health diagnoses, though my patients recently have consisted of children who are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and have limited functional language or social skills. For patients who are unable to participate in individual therapy due to their developmental level, I provide behavioral coaching to them within the milieu. I provide evidence-based treatment, including Verbal Behavior programming, Applied Behavior Analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, and Behavior Management Training, to patients and/or families. I also consult with outside providers, such as BHRS and case management, in order to facilitate treatment. I complete treatment plan reviews every 20 days and facilitate treatment review meetings. As the creator of the treatment plan, I oversee behavior planning to ensure that interventions are being implemented in a manner that is consistent with the treatment plan.
