The goal of this project is to revise the Real Men Are Safe (REMAS) an intervention used in CTN0018 (HIV/ STD Safe Sex Skills Groups for Men in Methadone Maintenance or Drug-Free Outpatient Treatment Programs). REMAS will be revised to be made more culturally relevant to African American and Hispanic participants and conduct a pilot feasibility trial. The trial will conduct sexual risk assessments to those receiving the original version of REMAS vs. the culturally tailored version. Analysis of the intervention’s promise will focus on direction and magnitude of change in the primary outcome (number of unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse occasions).
