In this position, I led and managed the development and implementation of a 4-year Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial, funded by the American Cancer Society. I supported and facilitated communication across multidisciplinary and internationally based teams to identify and deliver community-based health promotion programs to marginalized communities. Oversaw research protocols, study recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and project timelines, ensuring quality of data met strict Human Research Subject and government guidelines. Interviewed, hired, trained, and supervised a team of 5-10 program assistants and decreased employee turnover. Through efficient communication and administration, nurtured positive relationships and promoted innovative collaborative approaches and stakeholder engagement with partners based in the US and Spain. With the help of a community advisory board and grant partner team, developed and implemented project strategy plans, manuals of operation, process evaluations, internal and external audits, and QA reports, ensuring gold level standard of the clinical trial. Worked closely with department and subcontract financial officers in the development of site-specific monthly budget projection reports, budget development, and grant writing for future related projects. This resulted in the effective tracking of expenses and budget goals. Provided creative problem solving, troubleshooting, and the breakdown of complex ideas into easy-to-understand components. This included the development of a neighborhood-level recruitment strategy, tracking of program outreach, engagement, and recruitment efforts, which increased recruitment and retention rates by 40%.

Provided and facilitated evidence-based multidisciplinary community intervention program to participants, from a low sociodemographic area, who had been referred through an HER-based software. I was involved with all aspects of the program implementation, including the training of 45 medical providers, health educators, and medical assistants over the use and workflow implementation of a tailored referral process developed by HeartSmartKids to be used on iPadOS and Fire OS. As part of the program, I nurtured partnerships between 7 partnering clinics and led the Cooking Matters for Families curriculum, which included 6 weeks of cooking courses, nutrition labeling guidance, and weekly discussions of varying nutritional and food safety topics. Over the course of a year and through the use of QI metrics, charts, and effective communications, I was able to increase patient referral from <50% of eligible participants to 80%. Additionally, I developed and implemented a long-term Short Message Service campaign to provide semi-automated, 2-way communication in English and Spanish to increase 1- year follow up from 70% to 87%. Collectively, this led to a CDPHE grant and partnership with Colorado Access and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) in the development of a sustainability plan for school-based and community-led health intervention programing.
