I have known Angee throughout my entire graduate school experience. She is a superb recruiter and career coach. Her workshops are filled with actionable direction, to which I believe one can apply at any level of their career growth or transition. Her network is vast, because she is committed to fostering those relationships. One on one she is warm, engaged, and professional. She has provided me with some of the most valuable guidance I have ever been given.

I’ve known Angee Linsey for nearly a decade and worked with her initially as a candidate and later as a client. When I was a candidate, I was impressed by her openness and honesty. I never got the impression that she was merely trying to fill the role with a warm body or close the deal just to collect a fee. Angee was genuinely interested in getting to know me and invested in my future; she made sure there was a good match between my needs as a candidate and her client company. Once my expertise was established, it was all about culture and fit. Would I slip seamlessly into the company, find my footing, and contribute right away? Some years later, when I needed to find someone for my team, I saw first-hand how hard she worked to understand the job requirements and the company (strengths, weaknesses, idiosyncrasies) in order to find the best possible candidate. As a former communications professional herself, she intuitively understood the nuances of the role and the skills it would require. In the end, she helped us refine the role, re-calibrate on the skills we were seeking and, ultimately, brought us a candidate who fit into the team from day one.

I lead a boutique executive search firm that focuses on helping organizations identify the best communications, public relations, speechwriter and marketing talent for their teams. As a former communications professional, I have a deep understanding of the roles we fill. Our process helps our clients get to the heart of what success looks like so that when they meet our candidates, they know they are meeting qualified people who not only have the skill fit, but the culture characteristics needed to be a star in their organization. Additionally, I am passionate about helping professionals be more deliberate in their career. My book, "Dare to be Deliberate - Level Up Your Communications Career" offers insights from 10 communications executives, plus my perspective. Check out our additional coaching and workshops to help you be more intentional in your career! Show less

It was a thrill to return to my alma mater to teach a course and workshops on how to land your first job and then manage your career with intention. Through 10 cohorts I taught multiple workshops each academic year for the University of Washington's Master in Communication for Digital Media and Master in Communication for Communities and Networks programs (CommLead). These workshops are designed to help students create their personal brand, tell their own story and navigate the job market with the new skills they gain in the program. I also provide career coaching services to the students of this program. In 2017, I also taught a "Career Mastery" course for communications undergraduate students. Show less

In this role, I led the process design, deployment and training for tools and technologies relating to recruiting and compliance for Starbucks. I worked with talent acquisition and program teams in corporate, retail and international markets. This included working closely with the HR technology team to ensure Taleo workflows were in line with the recruiting process. For three years I worked with some of the best recruiting talent in the country at a mid-sized RPO (that was then bought by Manpower Business Services). I served as a Recruiting Manager on the KB Home account, managing a team of up to 5 recruiters in the western region. Then I moved to a corporate recruiter role in a rapidly growing technology company, BeVocal, that was then purchased by Nuance Communications. In that role, I recruited all levels from individual contributor to executive leadership roles in HR, finance, sales, marketing and technology. Show less

This is where I really honed my career coaching chops. I provided career consulting and training to people in career transition. In addition to one-on-one coaching of mid to senior and executive leaders, I led executive job search work teams and taught a number of workshops related to career transition. It was during the rise of dot-com companies when I joined this telecom late-stage start up. We were going fast and furiously to build a world class global team. I managed recruiters and recruiting programs including campus recruiting, military recruiting and other special programs. This was a time of tremendous learning, growth and a ton of fun! I stumbled into this role when I went back to graduate school and just needed a J.O.B. I figured I might be kind of good at recruiting with my communications background and career development education in process. I turned into their top producing direct hire recruiter at this boutique contingent staffing agency. I stumbled into this role when I went back to graduate school and just needed a J.O.B. Who knew there was even such a job to be a writer, desktop publisher and public relations person on board the No. 1 luxury cruise ship (at that time)? It was seriously a dream job. I traveled around the globe (3 times), wrote about people and places and made life long friends.
