I consider myself as a very lucky person to have memories of working with Andy. In all my professional and educational life I have never met anyone so passionate about their role as Principal. Everything he did, every decision he made and fought for were for the children of The Wellington Academy. He was an inspiration to work with and speaking frankly, reinstated my trust within the education industry during that time.

Rob Wood

An outstanding,Inspirational Head Teacher, and Leader.

Led the planning and development of a £32million green field campus on the edge of Salisbury Plain, including the highly acclaimed design* of a new secondary age state boarding school, with wide-ranging community facilities, including a theatre and sports centre, as well as an applied learning centre in the adjacent business park. More than doubled the size of the school (500>1200), established a new sixth form of over 300 and boarding house of 100 students, as well as working on the successful competition to win the contract to build a new primary school in the locality. Established very close links with the military as well as the Tidworth based charity Help for Heroes. In the initial stages of establishing the school also worked as SENCO and Designated Safeguarding Lead. ____________________________________________________________________________ *Andrew Adonis (2012) Education, Education, Education: Reforming England's Schools, pp 82-3: "...just as inspiring...to my mind is...Wellington Academy, in Wiltshire, designed by Keith Papa of BDP in London, built of natural timbers with a stately entrance lobby and open-plan area from which a 300-seat theatre, a cafeteria and classrooms fan off on several floors...it is far and away the most imposing building in its community and a source of immense local pride. As I approached in a taxi, the driver said to me: 'You can't miss it: it's fantastic, like that picture of St Paul's rising up from the rubble in the Blitz.' Show less
