Andy is motivated, knowledgeable and astute. He is a successful businessman and latter-day mentor. Also a professional who enjoys a challenge; he is as comfortable with short-term change management as with working to achieve long-term goals and aspirations.

As a parish member I beleive my role in particular is to represent the views and interests of the community who live in the National Park. This is in addition to that of providing oversight of the National Park Authority and ensuring it not only meets its aims but also covers it duty. I am particulaly concerned about how the NNPA communicates and engages with the community who live on the NNPA. I am also looking to reform the planning rules that whilst maintaining the special nature of the NNPA also allows the communities in scatterted properties the development rights that allow multigenerational familes to live and thrive in the Park. I act as a non-executive part time Financial Director for SME's. This role has many different aspects. However in common are:- 1) Producing accurate management accounts in a timely manner. 2) Building and maintain relationship with the company's funders be this banks, venture capital or other funders. 3) Working with and advising the board and owners on strategy be this acquisitions or disposals. 4) Sourcing appropriate ERP Systems. I have particular expertise with Kerridge K8. 5) I have expertise in turnarounds and managing cashflow in times of difficulty. My expertise in managing relationships with funders is particularly useful at these times. I am presently working with three SMES but have capacity for one more part time position. Show less

I acted as the spokesman for Business for Britain, I have had a few TV interviews and lots of press quotes, and have addressed 600 people as part of Boris Johnson's visit to the North East. Note I still did all my other roles as well. Lets take control over our future and lets not get dragged in to a Federal Europe. Lets take control over our borders and attract the best talent from around the world to the UK I acted as the spokesman for Business for Britain, I have had a few TV interviews and lots of press quotes, and have addressed 600 people as part of Boris Johnson's visit to the North East. SMH is an interesting company that was in accounting terms a mess with a number of operating companies working under one poor MRP system. The company was growing rapidly and suffering from cash flow problems. I merged the operating companies into one. Moved the main bankers to Yorkshire bank. I planned and then implemented the Kerridge Commercial Systems and was the first UK company to use their hire system. This enabled the company to nearly double in size with no increase in the accounting staff whilst increasing productivity and materially improving the reporting framework. Show less

This role was turning a company I that was only marginally profitable into a position where the owner could realise his investment in the business and then retire.
