Bio
Tom Malloy
I've worked with Andy for many years during my time at OPD. Having been another founding starter at OPD, we've worked on countless projects together. I can safely say without exaggeration that Andy is one of the best mechanical engineers in the business. What Andy doesn't know about product development and mechanics isn't worth knowing about. Alongside his encyclopedic knowledge of mechanics, plastics and assemblies, Andy is also a great person to work alongside. Never afraid to challenge design decisions you always know where your design stands and if you ever need an expert pair of eyes on a project, Andy's your man.

Andy and I worked together on a key new product development project, developing the company's first 1/4 VGA Pocket PC device embedding a vast wealth of differing third party communications, scanning and memory devices. The project was a significant challenge for the company and the timescales were extremely short. Andy was a brilliant technical leader on the project, always willing to tackle obstacles head on and think of new and innovative ways to make the product work, never forgetting the brief about developing a superior rugged handheld device. A fantastic guy to work with, who never seemed rattled by potential barriers and just kept on finding ways to knock them down.
