Hotplate is a platform that allows home-cooks to open a restaurant in their home and serve the people around them. Restaurants are dying, their cost of operation is too high, and eating out is becoming more and more expensive. Hotplate creates a restaurant model with no upfront cost and no extraneous overhead (which makes up 20-50% of the end cost to the consumer), and those savings are passed to the consumer. Hotplate restaurants can charge less and make more. Consumers will pay less for the same food and an experience that is markedly more communal, fulfilling, and unique than a traditional restaurant.
