A secondment post on behalf of Kitbag Limited. Working as part of a small team initially, helping to prepare the Ryder Cup retail site (60 x 40 metres), merchandising, rota planning and volunteer training plans. I was also responsible for putting together the training pack for the 360 volunteers who worked with us during the event. This included everything from heath and safety to cash handling and more. During the event, myself and 5 colleagues who managed the main retail site worked along side many of the suppliers to create the best shopping experience for the customer, but also maximise the turnover, this included Adidas, Glenmuir, Footjoy/Tiltleist, Abacus, Ralph Lauren, Proquip, Galvin Green and Peter Millar to name just a few. During this time the store was effectively re-merchandised every evening to accommodate the European Team wear for the day and to address any sell through issues that may have occurred. The event was a massive success which culminated in every Ryder Cup retail record being smashed.
