Andy works very hard and is successful at all he attempts. He has a great sense of humor and works well with all ages. He really loves the outdoors so all those campers will benefit from his skills.

Event host and advisor for nonprofit organizations. Provide consultation and strategies to maximize giving at events ranging in value from $10,000 to $250,000. Provide in-person and virtual support and consultation up to a year in advance of an event. Increasingly this has meant helping organizations transition to virtual events, and coach them in their digital communication and event coordination. This includes analysis of past giving and recommendations of how to better serve an organization’s financial goals while remaining focused on their values and mission. At the time of the event I provide a friendly, motivating presence on-screen to develop a connection to the work and mission of the organization that encourages maximum giving. Show less

KAOH is an ongoing, rugged and ribald podcast series about Oregon history. Over the course of its 9 year of production I have lead the podcast’s online presence, including building and maintaining the website and launching a successful fundraising campaign to fund a research trip in 2014. As producer and host, I edit scripts, and record and edit final audio. KAOH is an ongoing, rugged and ribald podcast series about Oregon history. Work with stakeholders statewide to improve program quality and increase opportunities for youth participation in the Oregon Outdoor School program. I lead a variety of initiatives, including a focus on improving relationships between Outdoor School providers and the residential camps and facilities where program runs. This included on-site and virtual interviews and tours. The final result has been published by Oregon State University Extension. Administrator, community coordinator, and primary visionary for a 552-acre residential youth camp in western Oregon. Namanu hosts 1500+ campers each summer, and 1200+ more through rentals to MESD Outdoor School and other youth organizations. I lead the in-person and digital community for this nearly 100 year-old summer camp. This entailed collaborating with camp families, alumni, renters, and partners to find new opportunities for improvement of the Camp Namanu site, facilities, and programs. Working with such a venerable site required balancing the emotional bond of community members with the need to innovate and improve. Often this has meant leaving behind long-held traditions and practices to ensure that the educational culture is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. I also oversaw a million dollar budget, communicating through email, social media, and coordinating logistics and ensuring that the highest standards and best practices of Camp Fire Columbia, the American Camp Association, and local and federal agencies are in place for Camp Namanu programs year-round. • Site Supervisor
      • 1998 - 2002

Implemented schedule and programming for five-day residential environmental education programs for up to 200 students per week each fall and spring. The Site Supervisor is an Outdoor School site’s live-in Principal, manager and supervisor, visionary and cheerleader, keeping a residential educational facility humming for 6-11 week-long sessions each fall and spring. As Site Supervisor I coordinated a community of scores of volunteers, hundreds of students, and dozens of instructors and teachers. I developed and presented curriculum used by volunteers to teach sixth-grade science. I emphasized hands-on work, and using the natural resources of the site to their fullest, while building a caring, inclusive community for up to 150 sixth graders, and 20-30 high school volunteers. I took care of a hard working staff of 20, providing training, direction, feedback, verbal and written evaluations. Together we worked closely with teachers and district personnel to ensure Oregon Educational Standards were met and measurable. Show less
