Meg Tufano, M.A.

The Regent's Online Degree Program is the the third largest, and the only collaborative, online degree-granting institution in the world. Each course design is vetted through multiple reviews by senior professors in colleges throughout Tennessee so as to meet or exceed land-based classroom standards and best practices of online teaching. Once approved, the courses are then cloned so as to assure quality control of the content and delivery. In the case of Introduction to Western Philosophy, there may be as many as fifteen sections in a semester and so are distributed to as many as four or five other teachers besides myself, the original designer. As the designer, continuing with the tradition of collaboration, each semester I take the suggestions of all the teachers who are using my original design and integrate their suggestions where possible. When Dr. Kelso joined our team, he proactively set about to improve the introductory material for each week's lessons, including significant design improvements that made the content more understandable and graphically exciting. Dr. Kelso is very easy to work with, and brings a penetrating intellect to the very profound project of presenting the complexity of philosophical ideas to students who are, in the main, not majoring in the humanities. His name now resides as a co-author in the References of the Master for this very successful online course.
