I am a senior trader with 10 years’ experience working for a European Hedge Fund that managed $1.4bln at its peak and averaged $800mln over my time there. I am familiar with trading Futures, Fx, EM Fx, Equities (EU, UK, US) and Equity indices as well as using various execution front ends. The basis of the European/US Equity fund was "black box", and as deputy head trader I was expected to gain positive slippage on dynamic stat-arb signals. These signals would be traded on a daily basis but leave the trader with a running weekly P&L. My sectors included Financials, Miners, Autos and Luxuries. I would trade around $30mln per day. As Head of complimentary strategies I managed a portfolio of cash Equities hedged with futures up to a value of 20% of the fund. The size of the trades would vary with the biggest trades up to the value of $25mln in one name and holding up to around 40 names on the book at any one time. Over the years this proved to be an integral part of the P&L. I created positions to protect P&L when stocks had a big move on news. This was achieved using tools developed by myself. Working with signals in a developing fund that has become mostly automated gave me many skills that are valuable in the development of trading financial instruments in the current market. As a senior trader I was heavily involved in recruitment decisions both hiring and firing along with appraisals, motivation and team building. I have many skills, but can identify when delegation is needed. I have advanced Excel, Bloomberg and charting experience along with trading all major financial instruments in a prop environment. Working as part of a team or individually is something I enjoy equally and through both personality and performance will be a valuable leader and member to any team. Show less
